Still winter here so I thought a little bright color might cheer things up. And is there and color brighter or more cheerful than orange? The fur vest from So Many Styles has been in my closet for a while and now seemed the perfect time to bring it out. This is one of the cutest fur vests around and it comes in fantastic colors and a lot of them. The chunky shoes from Fashionboi Landar are the perfect bright shade to pair with the vest …they match the cord ties. Underneath is a really old vintage sweater from Gisaci but it still rocks. The gold muted color and the scooped neck work here (although it also has a beautiful draped, collar attachment that I am not wearing). I really like to use older pieces if they are still high quality and most everything I have from Armidi is. The other vintage thing I am wearing is my “&Bean” skin. The &Bean skins are no longer available but they have always been some of my favorites because of their strong look. The sheer slightly frilly tank top with the gold sequin trim is by Nylon Pinkney. Her hand-painted items are always wonderful…lots of style, imagination and fun! I really like that you can see the high-waist of the leopard jeans/tights (R.icielli) under it.
The glasses from Izzie’s remind me of Diane Keaton (maybe Annie Hall?) and the hair with the wrapped scarf give the whole thing a real boho flavour. The sunglasses have different tints for the lenses and the scarf has several texture change options too! If you look you can barely see a peek of the fantastic mesh earrings from Beetlebones in the large photo. I had to buy the fatpack…not only did I love the shape and design but the colors are beautiful and each color comes with gold or silver bezels. For the rest of the jewelry I wanted sort of a mix of necklaces and these are from Atelier AM and Mandala. The purple gloves are from Royal blue by Marni Grut. I really like the way the cuffs on these look and they are wide enough to fit over other pieces (plus you can size the attachments which always helps). The purse which has been blogged many times now—so you must have already seen it—is one of the many mesh items from Maitreya. This mustard color was a special edition but it also comes in a lot of other wonderful colors. Details on everything after the cut. Well it may still be cold here but at least the sun is shining so I am going out! As always, for high-resolution versions of the photos, just click. See ya, Elisabeth

I’m loving this yellow dress with the black polka-dots from designer Kendall Freenote of Wasted Youth. One of the dresses from WY’s new super cute collection, it inspired me to take a lot (!) of pictures. It was also a lot of fun to style. I played with a several different looks and this was my city look with a touch of whimsy. (It’s not every day you wear a little back crow on your head.) In this incarnation I added a big wide velvet sash belt I lifted from a old Sweetest Goodbye outfit. The yellow vinyl umbrella complete with poses is from Creamshop and is just one of many colors. Plus I don’t get to wear my over the knee boots very often so I was rolling with this look when I saw how great they worked with the dress. More details and landmarks after the cut.

It is OPEN! Hair Fair 2010 is off to a great start. From September 4-19 you can shop ’til you drop. But don’t forget one of the most important things about Hair Fair is that it helps raise money for a very good cause. This year’s charity is Wigs for Kids…so keep that in mind when buying….and splurge!
I was lucky enough to get to see the sims before they were packed with people and took a few shots. The build is delightful with tents housing the participants along walkways punctuated by classical triumphal arches. Along the center of the walkways are easels which hold the incredible winning pictures of this year’s Hair Fair photography contest and big containers topped by balloons where you can make donations to the charity. Inside the tents, you will find most of your favorite hair designers as well as many others you may not have seen before. Take a look between the display areas inside the tents..there are cute dressing areas with make-up mirrors, fans, folding chairs. (See some of my pics below.) The styles this year are simply fantastic…in this post you’ll see a few of my favorites with more to come over the next several days. Congratulations to the Hair Fair committee for all their hard work and to the designers who have worked so hard making all the pretty hairstyles showcased at the fair! Enjoy. Complete list of landmarks. Details on skins, clothing and jewelry after the cut.

I recently found a shop I hadn’t seen before and fell in love with the light and airy creations. It is u.f.o. and there are all kinds of dresses, tops and sweaters (like the one I am wearing here) that are made up of light layers of chiffon-like pixels. I love that this sweater has a closure button in the shape of a rose (and in fact it even has more rose-shaped prim buttons which I chose not to wear since I wanted to wear the Paper Couture necklace that already was loaded up with roses). I’m wearing the sweater over one of Maitreya’s new releases, the Bubble dress. It has a great sculpted shape to the skirt and I love that you can tint the belt which helped me match the shoes. As though I didn’t already have enough roses draped around me the ring is a rose too. It’s from CentoPallini, a store with some really cute jewelry…so go check it out. The photos were shot at the PixelMode sim and if you haven’t been there, by all means you should go…a beautiful place! A great place for a walk in the country and to feel the wind in your pixel hair. I am wearing one of my favorite headbands from LaGyo to keep mine in place. 🙂 See ya, Elisabeth

I’ve always been a huge fan of Megg Demina. Chapeau Tres Mignon was one of the first stores I found after arriving in SL. I was intrigued by Megg’s incredibly diverse and amazing collection which range from hats featuring a blue lobster or a grasshopper perched on your head to a Spanish Galleon floating above your curls. Every hat she makes is full of whimsy and detail. Now fall is here and (yay!) she has released a new group of hats. All with pom-poms. Larger ones and smaller ones and a range of colors too. I took two of my favorites and made a couple of different outfits with them. I love this larger version of the pom-pom hat in black and white. (This hat comes in four other colors as well.) I decided to put it with something a little sophisticated to create a Parisian, walking-along-the-Seine feel. The shoes with anklets add to that look as does the short sleeved striped sweater from Pink. A “Chanel” bag and cuffed leather gloves lend the the final French touch.
For the second outfit I picked the smaller hat in the tartan version. The scarf is from Musim and although it isn’t an exact match I think it works. The coat from Lelutka’s 2008 Fall collection has become a staple in my wardrobe…. I love the shape, the way it stands open and the tweedy texture. It is layered over a sweater from DeLa and a prim shirt from Ce Cubic Effect with a zippered front. (The shirt doesn’t show very well here but it is really cute. It blouses around the waist very realistically.) Tesla’s Diva oxfords in red bring a little more color to the look. And a tip…remember when wearing hats it is important to find the right hair that works. In this case Lamb’s Egomaniacal (hehe—love the name) hair is flat enough that there is no need to mod the hair in order for the hat to look right. OK…got to run…..be sure to check out Megg’s wonderful hats….See ya, Elisabeth
