Still winter here so I thought a little bright color might cheer things up. And is there and color brighter or more cheerful than orange? The fur vest from So Many Styles has been in my closet for a while and now seemed the perfect time to bring it out. This is one of the cutest fur vests around and it comes in fantastic colors and a lot of them. The chunky shoes from Fashionboi Landar are the perfect bright shade to pair with the vest …they match the cord ties.  Underneath is a really old vintage sweater from Gisaci but it still rocks. The gold muted color and the scooped neck work here (although it also has a beautiful draped, collar attachment that I am not wearing). I really like to use older pieces if they are still high quality and most everything I have from Armidi is. The other vintage thing I am wearing is my “&Bean” skin. The &Bean skins are no longer available but they have always been some of my favorites because of their strong look. The sheer slightly frilly tank top with the gold sequin trim is by Nylon Pinkney. Her hand-painted items are always wonderful…lots of style, imagination and fun! I really like that you can see the high-waist of the leopard jeans/tights (R.icielli) under it.

The glasses from Izzie’s remind me of Diane Keaton (maybe Annie Hall?) and the hair with the wrapped scarf give the whole thing a real boho flavour. The sunglasses have different tints for the lenses and the scarf has several texture change options too! If you look you can barely see a peek of the fantastic mesh earrings from Beetlebones in the large photo. I had to buy the fatpack…not only did I love the shape and design but the colors are beautiful and each color comes with gold or silver bezels. For the rest of the jewelry I wanted sort of a mix of necklaces and these are from Atelier AM and Mandala. The purple gloves are from Royal blue by Marni Grut. I really like the way the cuffs on these look and they are wide enough to fit over other pieces (plus you can size the attachments which always helps). The purse which has been blogged many times now—so you must have already seen it—is one of the many  mesh items from Maitreya. This mustard color was a special edition but it also comes in a lot of other wonderful colors. Details on everything after the cut. Well it may still be cold here but at least the sun is shining so I am going out! As always, for high-resolution versions of the photos, just click. See ya, Elisabeth

The Birds

February 13, 2012

Channeling Tippi Hedren while taking my little dog for a walk, things got a little frightening (!) but at least I was wearing some of my favorite new mesh items. I love the Harris coat from S h i. Here I have not worn all the attachments so it looks more like a short jacket with elbow length sleeves. I like the short sort of casualness of it and the little touch of luxury with the fur collar. (It is gorgeous as a full coat and comes with two variations of the sleeves and I am sure most of you have seen it as it has been blogged a lot.) The skin tight leather pants are part of Maitreya’s mesh offerings. They are beautifully detailed and come in several dark and subtle color variations. The shoes are called Treaders …. I seriously love the rubber soles and slightly chunky look. They are also from Maitreya and are not mesh nor do they come with the foot in them so you can add your own socks—yay—which I did. I am loving the scarf from Zaara…it was part of the final 50 linden Friday. (So sorry that is gone.) It looks like a great Hermes scarf. The Cinch Belt is by Gospel Voom and as always with his creations, beautifully designed and crafted. I tried not to go overboard with the jewelry…the earrings from LaGyo make such a bold statement you don’t need much else so I limited it to some great rings and a little bracelet. Kept it simple with a classic purse in ostrich from Fleshtone so it wouldn’t compete with my dog carrier bag from Zoobies. OK got to run..the birds……….. As always click on any photo for a hi-res version and more detail! See ya, Elisabeth

Tempus Fugit

October 4, 2010

Yes…time is flying and there is shopping to be done. With lots of new items on the grid, autumn is always a fun time. Not too much to say today…other than I love the new handbags from Lelutka and the new hair they released this week!  The fluffy dress is from Wasted Youth and my coat is an old-but-still-wonderful stand-by from Aoharu! Kookies boots are a recent release—a new take on her Armarda boots…a longer version. I love them. The earrings are pretty special…a recent release from Ticky Tacky. And as always, Paper Couture has some great new stuff including the cool Moon ring and new tortoise shades. More details and landmarks after the cut. See ya, Elisabeth

September

September 28, 2010

Try to remember the kind of September
When life was slow and oh, so mellow.
Try to remember the kind of September
When grass was green and grain was yellow.
Try to remember and if you remember then follow, follow.Try to remember when life was so tender
That no one wept except the willow.
Try to remember when life was so tender
When dreams were kept beside your pillow.
Try to remember when life was so tender
When love was an ember about to billow.
Try to remember and if you remember then follow, follow.Deep in December it’s nice to remember
Although you know the snow will follow.
Deep in December it’s nice to remember
Without a hurt the heart is hollow.
Deep in December it’s nice to remember
The fire of September that made us mellow.
Deep in December our hearts should remember and follow, follow.Enjoy your September…December is coming!

Most of us know the story of Rumpelstiltskin. You know…the story of the miller’s daughter who, under the threat of death, was locked in a tower for 3 days by the king because he was told she could spin straw into gold (she couldn’t). The dwarf Rumelstiltskin who could but drove a hard bargain (her first born child). The dwarf spun lots of gold and made the king and the miller’s daughter both very happy. But… let’s just say when the time came she didn’t want to honor her bargain and (thinking she never could) the dwarf agreed he would let her off the hook if she could guess his name (she did.) Lucky for us…several sl designers seem to be spinning straw into gold and we only have to give up a few lindens (we can keep our first-born and no guessing games involved.)

For starters, Ce Cubic Effect has made this wonderful dress/top that is a golden, straw-colored, loose-weave linen fabric. It is done with all the usual panache of Ce Cubic Effect. The Muism pants are a golden beige…. also in a linen look fabric. The pants come with two lengths, the one shown and an ankle-length version. All the accessories are golden. LG Boutique makes the wonderful straw bag which is available in both large and small sizes and many other colors. ❤ Gyorgyna! Donna Flora’s golden necklace has a bit of fabric shot through with golden threads that emphasize the beautiful stones. The pumps are from Pixel Mode and are must-haves (they are also available with socks). By the way, the fantastic tat is from Zahir by Astrid Soon. I love tattoos with writing! To see more any image in more detail just click on it. Landmarks and credits below the cut.
See ya, Elisabeth

headshotI have had these wonderful Emery tights with the quilted leather knee patches in my inventory for at least a couple of months and never really found exactly what I wanted to wear them with. Then today I found this wonderful new sweater from So Many Styles and the match was made. The sweater is really a dress, but I pulled up the middle prim to shorten it a bit. I love this sweater dress, the texture is just so “knitty.” I feel warm just looking at it. The big cowl neck is fantastically sculpted. And it comes with a version that has a flower at the neck too. The skin I am wearing is one of the new Eclate skins from Lelutka. That is why I included the large photo to show you how pretty these are….just on the off chance that somehow you haven’t seen them yet. Anyway, I think these skins are beautiful and I absolutely love the thicker brows. (Reminds me of a young Brooke Shields.) The purse from Baiastice is real crocodile—so it must be vintage, right?  And I love that it is resizable which comes in handy. Just enlarge or shrink depending on the look you want.  If only that were possible in rl!  I wanted to keep the shoes simple and the Verve suede pumps from Maitreya with their small platform give a nice line to the leg.  Anyway, I like the look; uncomplicated, casual and elegant. Hope you do too. (Click any photo to see a larger version.)

Hey, Is It Fall Yet ??

August 24, 2009

two large

I know it is still August and still hot as all *%#. I love summer and summer clothes but when the heat just goes on and on, I start to dream of crisp fall days.  Yeah… sooooo when this uber cute top caught my eye the other day at MNK I snatched it up in a can’t-wait-for-September fit. It comes in several colors but I went for this lovely, rich, dark brown plaid since it had the most autumnal feel. I admit I snagged another color too…(at only 80 lindens they are a real bargain!)  I love the textures on this top…the plaid as well as the beautifully textured velvet trim and bows. And you get both styles— the plainer one with the cowl collar and velvet ribbon at the neck and the ruffly one with the velvet bows on the arms. All I added were my favorite Zaara velour jeans with the zipper trim, Tesla’s heeled oxfords and Lelutka’s cut velvet purse…..oh, and a little jewelry. Nothing more to say but ….”Please can we have some cooler weather?”  Yay autumn!
