It’s been a long time…

December 27, 2011

Wow…time really does fly…I can’t believe how long it has been since my last post! A really, really long time. What happened? Well lots of things have been going on in my RL including a very, very busy work schedule, a lot of travel and a computer that was not getting along with SL. I have popped into SL but not been able to spend much time there. Mostly lag and problems with viewers made it next to impossible to take pictures. Finally, with the new SL Beta viewer and some updates on my computer, things seem to be better. (Fingers crossed.) I have a new blog office inworld but I had to give up my wonderful mountain chalet when the winter sim where I had lived for 2 years closed down. So for now anyway my home is my office!  I am amazed at the work being done on the grid right now. I love the mesh items and in addition to long-time favorite designers there are so many new and talented people adding their creativity to the mix.

So just to say “hi”  here I am in my office.  I took these pictures a while back so I am wearing a couple of favorite older pieces here. The Lelutka jacket is not at all new but still a wonderful, wonderful piece. The long stole is actually a piece from Mr. Poet that is part of a coat set but I love the way it drapes over the shoulder and it is just the right color for the grey jacket. (The oversize turtleneck is from the same outfit and I love it because of the way it can come up and cover the bottom part of the face.) The softly pleated skirt is from mon tissu and like everything those girls do it is beautiful in design, construction and texture. The gloves are from Marni Grut at Royal Blue and come in many wonderful colors. I am a big fan of gloves in SL and these are great..you will want the fatpack. So see you soon and for details on what I am wearing see below!

Polka Dots…One More Time

September 26, 2010

I know…my last post featured the same dress. I meant to do both of these at the same time and then disaster struck…almost no internet connections to be found while I was traveling. So I am back home and here it is (finally), another styling of the same yellow polka-dot dress from Wasted Youth. What inspired this styling was trying on the new hair by Toast Bard from the Hair Fair. I am a huge fan of all things by Toast; skins, clothes and most definitely hair. All her creations have just the right edge and humor. The hair comes with the hat although I added the bird (also in my last post)..yes, I really like that bird. I am wearing one of Mynerva’s new skins and I am in love with them….beautifully drawn and the faces are so sweet. The belt is a favorite from this year’s Lelutka collection as are the Pow pumps. A lot of the other items are classics. The gym bag from Lelutka, the Pashmina from Zaara and the necklace from Paper Couture. Anyway, I thought it was fun to style this versatile dress two totally different ways. It is always great to get something new (in this case the hair and hat) that sends you off in a totally different direction. Hope you like it too.
See ya, Elisabeth

Knit Me Up

February 26, 2010

I admit it…it has been a long time since my last post. Busy at work, busy at home and basically lacking inspiration.  But I have been shopping and finding some wonderful stuff. Hooray! It is not all new….so you have probably seen some of these pieces before. Anyway, I love this new dress/top from Lelutka. The sculpting shapes are great and I love the knit textures. It comes with a wonderful belt that has an attached purse… but here I chose to put it with one of my favorite Maitreya belts. The hair and scarf are also Maitreya and they too are fabulously sculpted! The boots are recent releases from Kookie, Wow! Can she get any better? They are fantastic… I love the socks peeking out over the top them.  From YS&YS is the purse in snow leopard. It rocks! I’ve blogged it before but it has to be one of my favorite bags. If you haven’t been there to see the bags and shoes, go check them out.  I also included a large snapshot to show the new skin from Curio. ❤ This is the new Cupid line and as always with Curio, it is beautiful!  (To see any of the photos larger just click on them.)

See ya,
Elisabeth

Yes, plenty cold and lots of the white stuff falling. But we can stay toasty and warm with all the cute furs and winter gear around the grid right now. I love the all-white looks for snow. And now you can even find skins made for winter. Gala Phoenix at Curio has done some really cute skins that look as though you have been out in the cold with rosy cheeks and flushed skin. This one even has frosty white eyeshadow to match the sparkly snow. ❤ The fur stole from DP yumyum with the little fringe trim is perfect for keeping the shoulders covered and the shiny pants from Lelutka are definitely  on my favorite list.  They are beautifully rendered and look great in every color. Here they are perfect apres-ski pants but put them with heels and they are sexy and sleek. Kookies’ boots are just yummy….and they come in so many colors, you won’t be able to choose!  Details on the rest of the outfit are listed after the cut. Take care and stay warm!

Wooooooooo…..Boo!

October 31, 2009

Boo!3vintageOnce in a while a few things come out at about the same time and seem to just go together. This is one of those outfits. I think the inspiration was the yummy fur stole from Coco. But the new hair with knit cap from Vintage McMillan at Epoque and the lace-up socks from noju made it all come together. I added the vintage looking earrings from LaGyo, Wings of Glory, (love the name) and the rock star bracelet by Stiletto Moody for a little shine. And then, just when I thought it was finished, I found the drum case from sey…I love it as a purse. So here it is…I’m feeling all vintagey tonight! And happy Halloween everyone!

I Wanna Be a Cowgirl

July 23, 2009

with frame

Oh give me a home where the buffalo roam and the skies are not cloudy all  day…..how can I give up my dreams of the wild west and cowgirl fun…..WAIT! ….with Milk Motions cool, fringed, long T-shirt I don’t have to. Yee-ha. 🙂  This is super cute and the fringed parts are soooo fringe-a-licious.  Plus I got the one with the wild horses on the front which makes it even more western.  You gotta love the sculpty bits, just look at the way it is sort of baggy ❤ .The shoulder bag is an old one (the first bag I ever bought in SL!) from Shiny Things and and has just the right worn leather look. Scuffed up leather cowboy boots from Hoorenbeek.  Guess I’m ready for the round-up. Get along little doggie and all that stuff.

Channeling Agyness Deyn

February 3, 2009

I love the look of model Agyness Deyn and this look was inspired by some of the things I see her wear. As a matter of fact, in a recent issue of Vogue she was wearing something very similar and I wanted to recreate the look in SL. A very important part is the white-blond unruly hair and the ubiquitous hat. From Akeyo, here in SL I found almost the same fedora she was wearing in the photo I saw (Akeyo makes fantastically textured and sculpted hats!) The scarf is Armidi but I modified it to make it much longer. Agyness wasn’t wearing these shoes but if she had been to Redgrave…… she would’ve been!!! These tennis shoe boots (atheletic heels is the Redgrave  name) are so cute and they come in several color combinations…so, really, go have a look. Anyways, here it is…my version of Agyness Deyn in SL!  See ya,

❤ Elisabeth
