I know…my last post featured the same dress. I meant to do both of these at the same time and then disaster struck…almost no internet connections to be found while I was traveling. So I am back home and here it is (finally), another styling of the same yellow polka-dot dress from Wasted Youth. What inspired this styling was trying on the new hair by Toast Bard from the Hair Fair. I am a huge fan of all things by Toast; skins, clothes and most definitely hair. All her creations have just the right edge and humor. The hair comes with the hat although I added the bird (also in my last post)..yes, I really like that bird. I am wearing one of Mynerva’s new skins and I am in love with them….beautifully drawn and the faces are so sweet. The belt is a favorite from this year’s Lelutka collection as are the Pow pumps. A lot of the other items are classics. The gym bag from Lelutka, the Pashmina from Zaara and the necklace from Paper Couture. Anyway, I thought it was fun to style this versatile dress two totally different ways. It is always great to get something new (in this case the hair and hat) that sends you off in a totally different direction. Hope you like it too.
See ya, Elisabeth

Everyone needs a little black dress and this is a great one—the French Dress from Wasted Youth. I played around and put together several outfits with it…sometimes as a dress but also as a top. I am showing you two of my favorite combinations here. I pulled a real “vintage” piece (the used Flower Cardigan in red from Kurotsubaki) from my closet to wear over it in the first look. The belt is a fairly new one from LG Concept …it comes in several colors and I love the sculpted flower buckle. The little purse is from Baiastice. The great thing (besides that it is so cute) is it comes in a couple of sizes and both shoulder and hand hold positions. Yay for that. The second look is the dress worn more as a top over leggings. These leggings are from R.icielli and how cute is that newspaper print!!?? The flower on the hat is from Atelier AM. <3 It is a headband but works well added to the hat. For a better view click on any image for a higher resolution version. Details and landmarks after the cut. See ya, Elisabeth

A quick post….something comfy for hanging out…what I am wearing in sl today…. and what I might wear in rl today if only it were in my closet. Love the big loose shirt from Mr. Poet (check the tie in the back <3) and the Panu shoes from Picnic—so soft, soft, soft and they look like Bambi (They also come in several other textures. I couldn’t resist, I had to buy them all.) The little bag is from DCCXXII and it comes as shown or with a shoulder strap. All the bags from DCCXXII are just fantastic. They are scripted for a couple of color changes and to change the color of the metal trim. You should go take a look. Going back to hanging around now…Happy Week-End! Elisabeth

Patchwork is cute and just a little retro and these shorts from Pink Outfitters are both. (They’re not new, but I forgot I had them and how cute they were!) I love the embroidery on the back pocket. <3 They are worn here with the Billie lace tank top…also from PO…double cute! The long-sleeved thermal top in robin’s egg blue is from Pig. These thermals are wardrobe staple must-haves, especially now that it is getting cooler outside. The jacket is from enSvale and it is probably my favorite denim jacket right now. The detailing is just perfect. Look at the seams on the back….. The accessories add some fun and every item shown here is high quality in both the texturing and the design. J’s engineer boots which fold up or down and change colors (with the fatpack option) are beautifully made. Everything from Maitreya is great and Maitreya’s Coin Belt is no exception. It gives the look a little weight as do the Goth Necklaces from Fashionably Dead. And the pony tail hair with beret is yummy. The beret changes colors and textures along with the band around the pony tail. My pixels are happy! Hope yours are too.

Actually I wasn’t just hanging around when I got the anuenue mohair knit sweater tank…I was searching for stones in the Skipping Stones hunt. But I love this little vest that was the starting point for this look. I tried it with several things and it looked great with all but I hadn’t worn this BP beige denim skirt in ages and when I found it buried under piles of things in my ever-more-disastrous inventory I quickly grabbed it and put it on. I had everything else in inventory except the messenger bag for which I went on a massive search. It was worth the looking, I hadn’t seen anything else like it in sl and I got all three colors. (All different leather tones.) Just look at the cute clasp with the small heart. <3 The hair by Toast Bard is also one I haven’t had the chance to wear much but I love the way the ends are so jagged and bluntly cut. It took a little modding but I love the way it works with the Fedora from Lelutka. Now I have to say, I don’t wear heavy tats that often but this outfit needed something to cover my poor bare little arms. Lol. By the way you may note that I have taken up smoking but…(in the words of Bill Clinton) I didn’t inhale! Goes to show I will do anything for the look…..*cough, cough*.
I did do a little extra picture of the accessories to give you a better up-close view. So here it is…. and now for me… it is back to hanging around (thereby avoiding cleaning my inventory).

While cleaning and sorting inventory the other day I came across an old favorite from Last Call. The whole LC outfit is named Marguerite and I always loved it. Beautiful textures and design, the trademark of Ginny Talamasca. I confess I am guilty of wearing mostly new acquisitions …probably because I forget what I have buried in the deep recesses of my closet! Oh, so here was the perfect opportunity to put it (the top at least) together with one of my new favorites from Coco, the Party Dress. Since the Last Call top is transparent I added under it the top part of another old favorite from Ghost! by Triangle Caudron. (Ghost! is no longer around but Triangle is and has a new store called Triangle so go see it for some of the most imaginative design on the grid.) A recent purchase was the Goth Necklace from Fashionably Dead….I love the multiple chains and the length. The sash is taken from Day Dream from Sweetest Goodbye, which I modified slightly. I found this clutch bag at +plus and if you haven’t been there you should go, lots of really great goodies there. Anyway after a hard day of cleaning inventory I was happy with this look and have resolved to continue to incorporate older items from my inventory into my daily wardrobe. Those that have the quality and the style will stay in the closet and the others that haven’t stood the test of time will be weeded out and *gasp* deleted. The point is don’t forget the some of the old favs……bring them out and have fun!
