A Little Blue

A little blue…… a little yellow…. and one of my fav little fur wraps. From Bliss Fur, this little wrap comes in several color combinations but this one was just right with the blue skater dress from House of Fox and the fantastic lace-up booties and scrunchy socks are by fashionboi Landar too. This is a great little dress that looks perfect on its own but certainly is fun under the vintage jacket by Irie Campese from So Many Styles. I’ve had this jacket for a while but only recently found it again while sorting inventory and knew then I had to wear it in a post. I also had the wonderful jewelry from LaGyo — the Lolie necklace was a fantastic blue which really worked alone but the Adele earrings and necklace (also from LaGyo) add just a bit more shine. And we always need shine!!! I was looking around for the right purse and while at LaGyo I happened upon this little hat. I hadn’t planned a hat for this but it was so cute …. I had to buy it. Once I had a hat, i thought I needed gloves and these are from Celoe, really just too chic! Love them. Finally the hunt for the perfect bag ended at Hawthorne with this wonderful vintage look quilted bag in blue. You can buy it with the chain over the shoulder or holding it as a clutch. Taking the ferry home…

These photos were taken at the wonderful “Ferry” created by AM Radio. Unhappily, it is no longer there but at least I got a few shots before it disappeared. All of Am Radio’s sim designs were/are iconic and I have been lucky enough to experience all of them. We are fortunate that some are still on the grid to be appreciated. If you have been under a rock or are new to the virtual world then by all means search out some of his work. I made these pictures a while back but never posted. I know these are not just-released items but they are all great designs and I loved the Ferry so I when I found the photos I decided to post them. I had been obsessed with the hat from LaGyo and it was the inspiration for the outfit. It seemed a perfect match with the cinched linen high-waisted pants by Irene Campesi from So Many Styles. Then I found the wonderful top by Leezu Baxter. Just beautiful! Also from LaGyo is the wicker bag with circle handle (which comes in many color choices) and the fantastic pink earrings! The earrings are color change so you can always make them work with your outfit. I really love everything Gyorgina does and her hats and bags this year have been just brilliant. The shoes from Aoharu Anexx are great little suede wedges with leather fringes and just a little toe showing. To finish it all off are some amber bracelets and a bobble ring from another great jewelry maker, Zaara Kohime.

Pumpkin Eater

I am a big fan of hats, I have been since I joined SL but wow… they have really come a long way. When I found this wonderful hat from Georgyna (LaGyo) it was instant love and the start of this look. Soft and beautifully shaped it comes in many simply gorgeous colors and you can change the color of the button and string band with a built-in script. I added from Mon Tissue a great all around suede jacket. Love the way it cinches in at the waist and then flounces out. The pumps are also from Mon Tissue and the are the perfect little heel for a sporty look. The cropped pants—a length I love in RL as well—are from Willow. They are a huge favorite of mine right now. I found an old favorite in my scarf drawer from Artilleri. It’s a classic, one of the first scarfs I ever bought and I still love it. I don’t know why I needed a briefcase for looking at pumpkins but it is cute. And the little shoulder purse is TokiDoki, a real <3 with its embroidered flowers on the flap.

Forecast-Sunshine with Cold Winds

In the winter season sunny days seldom come along in rl but here in our pixel world they are easy to come by. So when the snow is falling outside my rl window it is great to escape and enjoy the sunshine on the grid. For my day in the sun I’m wearing one of Mon Tissu’s mesh pencil skirts. Beautiful textures and lots ! of colors available. The grey top is also Mon Tissu —I love that it is long and you can wear it outside your skirt…it even has its own little belt. The top is really versatile and a little boho, it looks great on its own with just a pair of tights or jeans. The coat is a two-tiered, almost-military style from Lelutka …. I love the way it hangs open and looks so natural. The bag from LaGyo is really one of my favs this year, it adds lots of style with its huge size and great crocodile texture. It comes with a nice pose or two which is important for handbags unless you have an AO that can accommodate the bag-holding without the handbag ending up inside your body or over your head. Can’t stop without mentioning the hair from vive9…LOVE the wrap style (very chic) and the little wisps of hair escaping from the wrap. I absolutely <3 the lace-up boots from JySyLilO. A great heel and the laces and zippers add an edgy quality. More details and landmarks after the cut. Now get out in the sunshine, even if it is pixel sunshine.

Things that Go Sparkle in the Night

In the darkest of nights the jewelry with the most sparkle is the way to go…even with jeans these fabulous sparklies look great. I usually buy things in sl that I would want in rl if it were possible and for sure…these I would want! Ditto for the boots, I absolutely love these! The Lu sisters have outdone themselves once again. The long sweater is from TokiD, it hangs beautifully and comes in a myriad of wonderful colors. By the way you will notice that the last picture has a different color lipstick. I put that in because I love the way just a tattoo layer can change the skin so much. Pididdle has some great lipsticks in wonderful unusual colors that work well with most skins so…. go have a look. I actually started this look with the great hair from Tram. You gotta love the bobby pins and the chic little bob. And of course the purse…mesh from Leverocci…pure beauty.

I adore Anya Ohmai’s darling little “fox” stole. And yes…it is faux fur (and of course it is faux, faux fur being pixels and all). She has done an amazing job with this piece….and I love the retro-ness of it. I am wearing it with some fabulous mesh items from Celoe. These pants are just wonderful. Love the shape, the texture, the shading and since they are mesh is is so cool to be able to sit in them and they actually still look like pants! The jacket is also Celoe…once again great technical work with the shape and artistic work with the textures and if either of these were available in rl I would be adding them to my closet. The travel bag is from Mon Tissue—shown here in camel but it comes in other super fun colors so you can always travel in style. The off-white handbag is from Orta. I added some favorite “oldies” to the mix including Dango’s beret by Azure Electricteeth, the fun Fly Earrings by Polyester Partridge, Paper Couture’s huge Moon Ring and LaGyo’s gorgeous bracelets.

It’s been a long time…

Wow…time really does fly…I can’t believe how long it has been since my last post! A really, really long time. What happened? Well lots of things have been going on in my RL including a very, very busy work schedule, a lot of travel and a computer that was not getting along with SL. I have popped into SL but not been able to spend much time there. Mostly lag and problems with viewers made it next to impossible to take pictures. Finally, with the new SL Beta viewer and some updates on my computer, things seem to be better. (Fingers crossed.) I have a new blog office inworld but I had to give up my wonderful mountain chalet when the winter sim where I had lived for 2 years closed down. So for now anyway my home is my office! I am amazed at the work being done on the grid right now. I love the mesh items and in addition to long-time favorite designers there are so many new and talented people adding their creativity to the mix.

So just to say “hi” here I am in my office. I took these pictures a while back so I am wearing a couple of favorite older pieces here. The Lelutka jacket is not at all new but still a wonderful, wonderful piece. The long stole is actually a piece from Mr. Poet that is part of a coat set but I love the way it drapes over the shoulder and it is just the right color for the grey jacket. (The oversize turtleneck is from the same outfit and I love it because of the way it can come up and cover the bottom part of the face.) The softly pleated skirt is from mon tissu and like everything those girls do it is beautiful in design, construction and texture. The gloves are from Marni Grut at Royal Blue and come in many wonderful colors. I am a big fan of gloves in SL and these are great..you will want the fatpack. Leaving on a Jet Plane

The perfect travel outfit…comfortable, travel-worthy but still sexy. Coco’s Mods Coat is wrinkle-proof, water-proof and still stylish…the leopard lining gives it that little extra something. I couldn’t believe it but I found these tights that were a perfect match in my inventory. They are from Love Me and come in several different animal prints. Love me makes really cute tights so if you haven’t been there, go! The travel bag is from Truth. I love the size (big enough to stuff in a week-end’s worth) and I love the metal studs on the sides. The fabulous necklace and earrings are new from LaGyo (<3 Gyorgyna). Her whole new collection is really something, I know I will be wearing a lot of it! And she has a great big new store, don’t miss it. The top is Lelutka and as always the quality of the textures are beautiful, the little flounce at the bottom is great. I’m wearing my favorite “French Roll” updo in Sl….Siri by Maitreya, perfect for always looking chic. The new glasses are from Vintage McMillan at epoque. (Don’t they make me look smarter?) First Snow

I smell winter coming. Even in the virtual world, furry hats and boots and warm coats are starting to appear. Leluka had some new releases this week and I fell truly, madly, deeply in love with this lumberjack coat. The bell shape that swirls out, the strong plaid fabric and the huge fur collar make it a real winner. I had just bought the fur hat from tram which happens to be a perfect match. The hat comes with and without (as worn here) a bow that ties under your neck. The boots are from DPYumYum. They have been in my closet for a year but..Wow..I think they are the same plaid. \o/ The hair is from BarberYumyum (modded to fit under the hat) and is new. I love the way some of the prim bits in this hair move when you turn your head…so pretty! The necklace is from Yummy. I have so many of Polyester Partridge’s creations..all of them are so cute…this one is a bunch of charms on a gold chain. <3 (I think I would buy them just because I love her name.) The skinny wrap belt is an old favorite from Shiny Things. It has a little pouch on it for your virtual money. More details and landmarks after the cut. Ruffles and Bows

I love the new ruffled boleros by G. Fields. She has a free version (in pumpkin color) at her store..I liked it so much I trotted right down to buy the fatpack. It is shown here with long sleeves but it also comes in a mid-sleeve and cap-sleeve version (also with ruffles) and you can wear it with or without the ruffled collar which makes it really versatile. A great staple for any closet.

The other new item here is the super cute short dress (worn as a top) from SK Designs.The package comes with two different patterns, both for only 150 lindens (what a bargain). All this is layered over a blouse from Zaara.

And accessories are important here..I tried to pile as many on as possible. The asymmetrical hat is from Coco and the big bow scarf from Miel. It is great…comes with changeable color textures and built-in resizing script. Also..I want to thank say a big thanks to Sasy Scarborough for her help while I was working on this post….she let me use her pose stands and fixed mine that I somehow had broken.
