Taking the ferry home…

January 22, 2012

These photos were taken at the wonderful “Ferry” created by AM Radio.  Unhappily, it is no longer there but at least I got a few shots before it disappeared. All of Am Radio’s sim designs were/are iconic and I have been lucky enough to experience all of them.  We are fortunate that some are still on the grid to be appreciated. If you have been under a rock or are new to the virtual world then by all means search out some of his work. I made these pictures a while back but never posted. I know these are not just-released items but they are all great designs and I loved the Ferry so I when I found the photos I decided to post them. I had been obsessed with the hat from LaGyo and it was the inspiration for the outfit. It seemed a perfect match with the cinched linen high-waisted pants by Irene Campesi from So Many Styles.  Then I found the wonderful top by Leezu Baxter. Just beautiful! Also from LaGyo is the wicker bag with circle handle (which comes in many color choices) and the fantastic pink earrings! The earrings are color change so you can always make them work with your outfit. I really love everything Gyorgina does and her hats and bags this year have been just brilliant. The shoes from Aoharu Anexx are great little suede wedges with leather fringes and just a little toe showing. To finish it all off are some amber bracelets and a bobble ring from another great jewelry maker, Zaara Kohime.

Pumpkin Eater

January 15, 2012

I am a big fan of hats, I have been since I joined SL but wow… they have really come a long way. When I found this wonderful hat from Georgyna (LaGyo) it was instant love and the start of this look. Soft and beautifully shaped it comes in many simply gorgeous colors and you can change the color of the button and string band with a built-in script. I added from Mon Tissue a great all around suede jacket. Love the way it cinches in at the waist and then flounces out. The pumps are also from Mon Tissue and the are the perfect little heel for a sporty look. The cropped pants—a length I love in RL as well—are from Willow. They are a huge favorite of mine right now.  I found an old favorite in my scarf drawer from Artilleri. It’s a classic, one of the first scarfs I ever bought and I still love it. I don’t know why I needed a briefcase for looking at pumpkins but it is cute. And the little shoulder purse is TokiDoki, a real <3 with its embroidered flowers on the flap.

Leaving on a Jet Plane

October 18, 2010

The perfect travel outfit…comfortable, travel-worthy but still sexy. Coco’s Mods Coat is wrinkle-proof, water-proof and still stylish…the leopard lining gives it that little extra something.  I couldn’t believe it but I found these tights that were a perfect match in my inventory. They are from Love Me and come in several different animal prints. Love me makes really cute tights so if you haven’t been there, go! The travel bag is from Truth. I love the size (big enough to stuff in a week-end’s worth) and I love the metal studs on the sides. The fabulous necklace and earrings are new from LaGyo (<3 Gyorgyna). Her whole new collection is really something, I know I will be wearing a lot of it! And she has a great big new store, don’t miss it. The top is Lelutka and as always the quality of the textures are beautiful, the little flounce at the bottom is great. I’m wearing my favorite “French Roll” updo in Sl….Siri by Maitreya, perfect for always looking chic.  The new glasses are from Vintage McMillan at epoque. (Don’t they make me look smarter?) Ruffles and Bows

October 7, 2010

I love the new ruffled boleros by G. Fields. She has a free version (in pumpkin color) at her store..I liked it so much I trotted right down to buy the fatpack. It is shown here with long sleeves but it also comes in a mid-sleeve and cap-sleeve version (also with ruffles) and you can wear it with or without the ruffled collar which makes it really versatile. A great staple for any closet.

The other new item here is the super cute short dress (worn as a top) from SK Designs. The package comes with two different patterns, both for only 150 lindens (what a bargain). All this is layered over a blouse from Zaara.

And accessories are important here..I tried to pile as many on as possible. :D   The asymmetrical hat is from Coco and the big bow scarf from Miel. It is great…comes with changeable color textures and built-in resizing script. Also..I want to thank say a big thanks to Sasy Scarborough for her help while I was working on this post….she let me use her pose stands and fixed mine that I somehow had broken. So thanks Sasy…big hugs.  Read more details and landmarks listed after the cut!

Kookies boots are a recent release—a new take on her Armarda boots…a longer version. I love them. The earrings are pretty special…a recent release from Ticky Tacky. September

September 28, 2010

Try to remember the kind of September
When life was slow and oh, so mellow.
Try to remember the kind of September
When grass was green and grain was yellow.
Try to remember and if you remember then follow, follow.Try to remember when life was so tender
That no one wept except the willow.
Try to remember when life was so tender
When dreams were kept beside your pillow.
Try to remember when life was so tender
When love was an ember about to billow.
Try to remember and if you remember then follow, follow.Deep in December it’s nice to remember
Although you know the snow will follow.
Deep in December it’s nice to remember
Without a hurt the heart is hollow.
Deep in December it’s nice to remember
The fire of September that made us mellow.
Deep in December our hearts should remember and follow, follow.Enjoy your September…December is coming!

Out of a Dream….

August 1, 2010

This look was inspired by several things; this tiny, tiny little skirt from Liberty Shinn at LP Design (it comes in many other colors) and the flowered crop jacket from La Maison Kaestner <3 (here i just wore the chest part to make it a little vest).  Fashionboi Landar from House of Fox created the black leather bra and the sheer top (these are from older releases). HOF is really doing amazing and uber-creative couture work. If you haven’t been, go check it out. This wonderful updo called Maya is newly released from I Love Olive. Look at the back! Beautiful.
The photos were shot at the Zero sim and in the end they all had a sort of dream-like quality helped along by the beautiful poses by Del May—hence the name of the post. All details and landmarks below the cut.

Jail Bait

May 11, 2010

Well not really but with a name like Cell Block Blazer it sort of makes sense. Kendall Freenote, designer of Wasted Youth, has been churning out some super cute new additions to her already super cute inventory. I love this blazer. I found so many ways to wear  it…but this was my favorite. A totally black and white look with only the ribbon on the hat from Epoque adding a note of red. The leggings/pants are from Emery and I love the detail of the belt drawn on….beautiful!! I added the new lariat pearl rope and pearl necklaces in black from Aya Huldschinsky (Atleir AM) and a zebra skin purse from Paper Couture. The black and white oxford tie shoes from Coco finish it off. More looks to post soon from Wasted Youth. Go check it out. Details and landmarks after the cute. For a closer look, just click on the photos for a higher resolution image. See ya, Elisabeth

Most of us know the story of Rumpelstiltskin. You know…the story of the miller’s daughter who, under the threat of death, was locked in a tower for 3 days by the king because he was told she could spin straw into gold (she couldn’t). The dwarf Rumelstiltskin who could but drove a hard bargain (her first born child). The dwarf spun lots of gold and made the king and the miller’s daughter both very happy. But… let’s just say when the time came she didn’t want to honor her bargain and (thinking she never could) the dwarf agreed he would let her off the hook if she could guess his name (she did.) Lucky for us…several sl designers seem to be spinning straw into gold and we only have to give up a few lindens (we can keep our first-born and no guessing games involved.)

For starters, Ce Cubic Effect has made this wonderful dress/top that is a golden, straw-colored, loose-weave linen fabric. It is done with all the usual panache of Ce Cubic Effect. The Muism pants are a golden beige…. also in a linen look fabric. The pants come with two lengths, the one shown and an ankle-length version. All the accessories are golden. LG Boutique makes the wonderful straw bag which is available in both large and small sizes and many other colors. <3 Gyorgyna! Donna Flora’s golden necklace has a bit of fabric shot through with golden threads that emphasize the beautiful stones. The pumps are from Pixel Mode and are must-haves (they are also available with socks). By the way, the fantastic tat is from Zahir by Astrid Soon. I love tattoos with writing! To see more any image in more detail just click on it. Landmarks and credits below the cut.
See ya, Elisabeth

Going to Kowloon

April 3, 2010

Lately I’ve been in an exploring mood and I keep coming across the most amazing places. Kowloon is not a new sim and many of you probably know it since it is popular with photographers, but I didn’t. I enjoyed snooping around the nooks and crannies and taking a few pictures there as well. Kowloon sim is based on a walled city in China that existed until it was demolished in 1993.

(From Wikipedia) Kowloon Walled City was a Chinese military fort in Kowloon, Hong Kong, which became an enclave after the New Territories were leased to Britain in 1898. Following Japanese occupation during World War II, the Walled City developed into an extremely dense, largely ungoverned urban settlement. From the 1950s through the 1970s, it was controlled by Triads and had high rates of prostitution, gambling, and drug use. In 1987, the Walled City contained 33,000 residents within its 6.5-acre (0.03 km2; 0.01 sq mi) borders.

In January 1987, the Hong Kong government announced plans to demolish the Walled City. After an arduous eviction process, demolition began in March 1993 and was completed in April 1994. Kowloon Walled City Park opened in December 1995 and occupies the area of the former Walled City. Some historical artifacts from the Walled City, including its yamen building and remnants of its South Gate, have been preserved there.

My outfit was built around the Lelutka gift hair that came out this week. It is not the usual “pretty” hair, but I think it is a lot of fun and couldn’t wait to put something together to wear with it. The other thing new shown here is the fantastic pair of shorts from LG Boutique. I love the shape of these and the pattern is great too. You will certainly see them again in another styling.  Details and landmarks after the cut. See ya, Elisabeth
