Obsession

February 11, 2012

OK. I said I was sort of obsessed with this skirt. This is one of the other looks I put together with it. A more casual, younger look guaranteed to bring out your inner nerd but I thought it was fun so I decided to share. First, gotta love the Lucy Ricardo glasses, so very retro. The cardigan is from Tres Blah and with the small sparkles on the shoulder it makes it not-your-usual cardigan and I think it has a little retro look too. The shirt is actually made of pieces from two different shirts. I wanted the long shirt tail and belt from the Maitreya shirt but to make the collar work with the sweater I had to use an older one from Gisaci. The silver brogues (also from Leverocci) are another retro look really popular now…I <3 brogues and I especially like them in this shiny silver version teamed with slouchy socks. Two bags were needed…. the small one to keep my pixel cash in and the larger one for important pixel stuff too big to fit in the other smaller bag. The large purse is from So Many Styles, sort of a doctor bag shape and the small one from TokiD. Some cool jewelry from DDL, 2 necklaces and a watch plus from Addict one of my favorite rings, a golden chocolate piece. Have a great week-end. See ya, Elisabeth

A Little Blue

January 27, 2012

A little blue…… a little yellow…. and one of my fav little fur wraps. From Bliss Fur, this little wrap comes in several color combinations but this one was just right with the blue skater dress from House of Fox and the fantastic lace-up booties and scrunchy socks are by fashionboi Landar too. This is a great little dress that looks perfect on its own but certainly is fun under the vintage jacket by Irie Campese from So Many Styles.  I’ve had this jacket for a while but only recently found it again while sorting inventory and knew then I had to wear it in a post. I also had the wonderful jewelry from LaGyo  — the Lolie necklace was a fantastic blue which really worked alone but the Adele earrings and necklace (also from LaGyo) add just a bit more shine.  And we always need shine!!!  I was looking around for the right purse and while at LaGyo I happened upon this little hat. I hadn’t planned a hat for this but it was so cute …. I had to buy it.  Once I had a hat, i thought I needed gloves and these are from Celoe, really just too chic! Love them.  Finally the hunt for the perfect bag ended at Hawthorne with this wonderful vintage look quilted bag in blue. You can buy it with the chain over the shoulder or holding it as a clutch. Lots of colors to choose from too. Shopping details below. More later!  See ya, Elisabeth

Ruffles and Bows

October 7, 2010

I love the new ruffled boleros by G. Fields. She has a free version (in pumpkin color) at her store..I liked it so much I trotted right down to buy the fatpack. It is shown here with long sleeves but it also comes in a mid-sleeve and cap-sleeve version (also with ruffles) and you can wear it with or without the ruffled collar which makes it really versatile. A great staple for any closet.

The other new item here is the super cute short dress (worn as a top) from SK Designs. The package comes with two different patterns, both for only 150 lindens (what a bargain). All this is layered over a blouse from Zaara.

And accessories are important here..I tried to pile as many on as possible. :D   The asymmetrical hat is from Coco and the big bow scarf from Miel. It is great…comes with changeable color textures and built-in resizing script. Also..I want to thank say a big thanks to Sasy Scarborough for her help while I was working on this post….she let me use her pose stands and fixed mine that I somehow had broken. So thanks Sasy…big hugs.  Read more details and landmarks listed after the cut!

Polka Dots…One More Time

September 26, 2010

I know…my last post featured the same dress. I meant to do both of these at the same time and then disaster struck…almost no internet connections to be found while I was traveling. So I am back home and here it is (finally), another styling of the same yellow polka-dot dress from Wasted Youth. What inspired this styling was trying on the new hair by Toast Bard from the Hair Fair. I am a huge fan of all things by Toast; skins, clothes and most definitely hair. All her creations have just the right edge and humor. The hair comes with the hat although I added the bird (also in my last post)..yes, I really like that bird. I am wearing one of Mynerva’s new skins and I am in love with them….beautifully drawn and the faces are so sweet. The belt is a favorite from this year’s Lelutka collection as are the Pow pumps. A lot of the other items are classics. The gym bag from Lelutka, the Pashmina from Zaara and the necklace from Paper Couture. Anyway, I thought it was fun to style this versatile dress two totally different ways. It is always great to get something new (in this case the hair and hat) that sends you off in a totally different direction. Hope you like it too.
See ya, Elisabeth

Jail Bait

May 11, 2010

Well not really but with a name like Cell Block Blazer it sort of makes sense. Kendall Freenote, designer of Wasted Youth, has been churning out some super cute new additions to her already super cute inventory. I love this blazer. I found so many ways to wear  it…but this was my favorite. A totally black and white look with only the ribbon on the hat from Epoque adding a note of red. The leggings/pants are from Emery and I love the detail of the belt drawn on….beautiful!! I added the new lariat pearl rope and pearl necklaces in black from Aya Huldschinsky (Atleir AM) and a zebra skin purse from Paper Couture. The black and white oxford tie shoes from Coco finish it off. More looks to post soon from Wasted Youth. Go check it out. Details and landmarks after the cute. Hanging around today

May 2, 2010

A quick post….something comfy for hanging out…what I am wearing in sl today…. and what I might wear in rl today if only it were in my closet. Love the big loose shirt from Mr. Poet (check the tie in the back <3) and the Panu shoes from Picnic—so soft, soft, soft and they look like Bambi :o    (They also come in several other textures. I couldn’t resist, I had to buy them all.) The little bag is from DCCXXII and it comes as shown or with a shoulder strap. All the bags from DCCXXII are just fantastic. They are scripted for a couple of color changes and to change the color of the metal trim. You should go take a look. Going back to hanging around now…Happy Week-End!   Elisabeth

I <3 Onyx and Beau

May 1, 2010

A new release from Maitreya! Used to be that wearing socks with sandals was a big fashion no-no…but this year it is a huge trend. And I have to say I <3 the new Allure sandals with the sock or tights option (or you can get them without)…and I love Onyx and Beau who created these little wonders. I have been waiting for something like this for months. And it should be no surprise that it comes from Maitreya. They are always on the forefront of the all things fashionable. I am also wearing one of their new Bra tops under the black Gisaci trench. Although with this outfit you can barely see the Bra top…they are gorgeous and come in loads of colors. (I myself couldn’t decide/resist and went for the fatpack.) The trench is a much-loved classic from my closet and still a big favorite. The glamorous page boy hair with hat is a new release from I Love Olive (this style is available only at Vita’s Boudoir). I Love Olive is making some of the most fun styles around these days…and I am a sucker for hats. The skin is a pre-release from Bella Di Notte. I can’t wait to see the other make-ups from the line…the face is really, really beautiful. Okay…I have to go now and try on more of the socks and sandal combination…..Details and landmarks after the cut.

…would I wanna be anywhere else?  Those lyrics have been going around in my head all day. Just the chorus, but it won’t stop… Maybe it’s because finally the sun IS in the sky and it is shining.  Anyway maybe that is why I feel like wearing something fun. I got this great headpiece and new flower and lace skirt from LG Boutique (<3 Georgyna Larnia) that I wanted to wear so I started there. The little leopard tippet with pearl closing from Atelier AM is new too and something I really love but hadn’t worn yet so that went into the mix. You can’t have too many pearls so I added a long string of pearls (from AA as well). I liked the outfit worn with the red Mongolian fur from Fishy Strawberry  so I show it here both with and without. The little woven straw hand purse is from LG boutique too and it is sooooooooo cute…..and comes in tons of colors. Oh why, oh why would I wanna be anywhere else?

YES Sir! NO Sir!

March 31, 2010

Wearing this military jacket from Coco makes me feel all, well… all military. So a lot of “YES Sirs” and “NO Sirs” and saluting—whatever. And La Gyo’s Unico hat….sort of military goes sparkley. I guess the shoes aren’t very military, I can’t see anyone doing maneuvers in heels this high but they are cute aren’t they? Also from La Gyo, the cute, vintagey-looking necklace with the antique car picture and little white ribbon on it.  The purse and belt are both from YS&YS …great design, well-fitted, textured and sculpted. I know I talk about quality a lot but if something is not well-done, what is the point? We are in a pixel world here and there are so many talented designers out there now that we don’t have to settle for anything less than great. Not much more to say, oh except “At Ease!”

I <3 Toasty Textures

December 10, 2009

In the deep, dark of December we all love the thick, rich textures of warm sweaters and coats. Well at least I do. These two outfits are a mix of both new and old pieces and I chose all of them for the wonderful textures and shapes. Certainly one thing that has evolved a lot over the past year is the sheer inventiveness of all the wonderful sculpty clothes and accessories. I think Cocoro Lemon from Coco makes some of the most interesting examples around. This bulky red sweater layered over it’s own blouse is just one example. <3  The laced up boots from Anexx in red and Kookies’ Athena black short boot are more fabulous masterpieces of sculpting and texturing. The twill coat from M.R.M. has been in my closet for a while now but is still a big favorite….it has a fantastic herringbone texture so realistic, it practically makes me itch.  Showing from beneath the coat is the bottom prim from a Milk Motion tee.  Both tops are layered over full skirts. I love the way the skirts look under these shaped tops! I don’t want to forget the  purses…they are both fairly new releases…The red ruffly one (a 50 linden Friday item <3) is from Tres Blah and it comes in several other colors. The other is from YS&YS. The one shown here is in snow leopard but it comes in both plain leather or in different fur textures in several colors. Oh and as a bonus it comes stuffed with its own reading materials stuffed inside. :) You should most definitely check out the bags and shoes at YS&YS  if you haven’t already! (They make beautiful skins too).  Anyway, I am loving the cold weather and all the lovely new clothes and accessories hitting the stores this month. Hope you are too!
