Lately I’ve been in an exploring mood and I keep coming across the most amazing places. Kowloon is not a new sim and many of you probably know it since it is popular with photographers, but I didn’t. I enjoyed snooping around the nooks and crannies and taking a few pictures there as well. Kowloon sim is based on a walled city in China that existed until it was demolished in 1993.
(From Wikipedia) Kowloon Walled City was a Chinese military fort in Kowloon, Hong Kong, which became an enclave after the New Territories were leased to Britain in 1898. Following Japanese occupation during World War II, the Walled City developed into an extremely dense, largely ungoverned urban settlement. From the 1950s through the 1970s, it was controlled by Triads and had high rates of prostitution, gambling, and drug use. In 1987, the Walled City contained 33,000 residents within its 6.5-acre (0.03 km2; 0.01 sq mi) borders.
In January 1987, the Hong Kong government announced plans to demolish the Walled City. After an arduous eviction process, demolition began in March 1993 and was completed in April 1994. Kowloon Walled City Park opened in December 1995 and occupies the area of the former Walled City. Some historical artifacts from the Walled City, including its yamen building and remnants of its South Gate, have been preserved there.
My outfit was built around the Lelutka gift hair that came out this week. It is not the usual “pretty” hair, but I think it is a lot of fun and couldn’t wait to put something together to wear with it. The other thing new shown here is the fantastic pair of shorts from LG Boutique. I love the shape of these and the pattern is great too. You will certainly see them again in another styling. Details and landmarks after the cut. See ya, Elisabeth

Patchwork is cute and just a little retro and these shorts from Pink Outfitters are both. (They’re not new, but I forgot I had them and how cute they were!) I love the embroidery on the back pocket. <3 They are worn here with the Billie lace tank top…also from PO…double cute! The long-sleeved thermal top in robin’s egg blue is from Pig. These thermals are wardrobe staple must-haves, especially now that it is getting cooler outside. The jacket is from enSvale and it is probably my favorite denim jacket right now. The detailing is just perfect. Look at the seams on the back….. :) The accessories add some fun and every item shown here is high quality in both the texturing and the design. J’s engineer boots which fold up or down and change colors (with the fatpack option) are beautifully made. Everything from Maitreya is great and Maitreya’s Coin Belt is no exception. It gives the look a little weight as do the Goth Necklaces from Fashionably Dead. And the pony tail hair with beret is yummy. The beret changes colors and textures along with the band around the pony tail. My pixels are happy! Hope yours are too.

Ok, well maybe not. But I admit it. I must love pink. I typed pink into my inventory the other day and I couldn’t believe how much pink I actually had. It seems to have inundated my closet. The reason I had typed pink in the first place was that I had found some cute shorts and knee length pants at MNK Shop and was trying on various combinations with existing inventory pieces. Anyway I had fun and came up with a couple of looks I liked and so decided to share them. First of all let me say, if you haven’t been to MNK then by all means GO! Lots of really cute items. When I saw these I clicked on “buy” immediately and when I got home and tried them on I wasn’t disappointed. There were three different pant shapes in the package. (I only show two here but the third is cute too…a little like culottes.) The set of three pants is only 90 lindens—what a bargain :) —and they come in two other colors too.
The first look is with the puffy shorts and a sweater that is also from MNK. The sweater knit is a great texture and I love the shape of the bottom and how it stands out and doesn’t hug the body. It is also only 90 lindens and comes in six other colors as well. I put it with a prim vest from Sweetest Goodbye which worked well over the sweater prim. I also love, love, love the purse from tres blah. Yummy. The book sticking out and the bow on the front really add a whimsical touch. The knit scarf is also from tres blah and just look at the cute little bird pin that comes on it. <3
The knee-length pants I put with an old favorite, the Lima trench coat from Armidi, but worn here only with the jacket layer. The shoes are Teese from Lelutka’s Spring Collection. I adore the chunkiness of the shoe and heel. The tote bag by Malt has a great suede texture and shape. It gives this look a slightly more serious tone. Anyway, hope you like the outfits. Stay pink and be happy.

Oh give me a home where the buffalo roam and the skies are not cloudy all day…..how can I give up my dreams of the wild west and cowgirl fun…..WAIT! ….with Milk Motions cool, fringed, long T-shirt I don’t have to. Yee-ha. :) This is super cute and the fringed parts are soooo fringe-a-licious. Plus I got the one with the wild horses on the front which makes it even more western. You gotta love the sculpty bits, just look at the way it is sort of baggy <3 .The shoulder bag is an old one (the first bag I ever bought in SL!) from Shiny Things and and has just the right worn leather look. Scuffed up leather cowboy boots from Hoorenbeek. Guess I’m ready for the round-up. Get along little doggie and all that stuff.

The sun is shining, the birdies are singing and I feel……like wearing Pumpkin Pants!! OK these Pumpkin Pants (really the name) are sooooo cute……that when I walked into Coco’s new location and saw them, I didn’t think twice…click, click, click. No fatpacks unfortunately—so I just had to get all the colors separately. They come in beige, black, blue and white…all with the belt as part of the pants which means it fits perfectly! The short jean jacket is also from Coco and the sculpty parts are so well done it is irresistible. If you were not into jean jackets before—you will be after you try this one.
For the hair I wanted something really fun and this one from DejaVu sort of sets the tone for the entire outfit. I think it has a sort of “Cutie Pie” look to it…. just look at the Smiley faces :) on the pony tail holder!!! To finish it off I put on these platform lace-up heels from AW Designs. These shoes make me really smile…there is something a little Minnie Mouse about them…especially worn with something like this. Hope you like it too. OK. Now I am going outside…to listen to the birdies.

OK, two posts in one day and both including the same item! No I haven’t lost my mind and please forgive me, but earlier I featured Lelutka’s new Michelle shorts paired with leather. It is just that when I decided to change clothes, I loved the shorts so much I wanted to keep wearing them and this is the result. So here is a second outfit, where the same shorts are given a tailored white silk blouse to show off their high waist. This outfit has a totally different feel that I really like and although it is very simple I decided to share it with you. Something more casual and oriented for day. I am wearing some of Viola Leigh’s (of Redgrave) newest sandals. I love, love, love the way they fit and wrap the leg. The earrings were a recent find from +plus along with the cute clutch bag. It’s so much fun to make the different looks…. and play with all the fun accessories. Check out the diamond bee necklace from Paper Couture. (If you can’t find it in the store, it is still for sale on X-street and there is a ring available too.) By the way, these Lelutka shorts come in lots of colors including some yummy ones for spring….and they are so comfy. Ahhh! Spandex. Just don’t forget to suck in the tummy. ;)

Sometimes a little spandex and leather is just what you need to make your day….or night. In this case, the Lelutka Michelle spandex shorts with rolled cuffs and high waist. I thought just a simple leather jacket with a few buckles here and there was enough to finish off a sleek look perfect for clubbing. This jacket from Aoharu is one of my favorites (and it has the collar shown as well as a fur collar you can add). To dress it up just a little are the sexy, very high-heeled boots from Bax Cohen in patent leather. Not so easy to dance in but they look great! Short black socks add an edge and a pocket book with a wrist strap that makes it easy to hang on to is a must for going out. In a little tribute to Barbie’s 5oth birthday I added the Armidi Superpony which is most assuredly Barbie at her 50-year old best and never looking the worse for wear.
