Who would have thought? A fantastic Frank Lloyd Wright museum exists in our pixel world. I found it merely by chance by but I enjoyed the museum as well as visiting the virtual recreations of some of Wright’s famous residential buildings. There is even a museum store where you can buy recreations of furniture, posters, lamps and virtual books. It is educational, beautiful and really worth seeing!

And my g0-to-the -museum attire? The look was inspired by a couple of different things. The first was the pillbox hat by Epoque with it’s peacock feather trim. The second was the sweater and pin from Surf Couture (a 50 linden Friday item). I added the BettyPage Voyager jean jacket and the chiffon skirt from So Many Styles. (The skirt is a staple in my closet..I love the realistic layers and it comes in many colors as well as a subtle dotted pattern.) I think accessories make the outfit… so not one but two gorgeous rings…one from Zaara and the other from Paper Couture.  Feathers became a theme….there are feathers on the necklace from Atelier AM and the earrings from Pididdle are peacock feathers that match the one on the hat. And Valena Glushenko’s (Orta) wonderful Stella clutch adds a little punch of color.

More credits and landmarks after the cut. And forgive me all the pictures but I wanted to show the museum as well as the outfit (the first one and the last two are at the museum). And by all means go check it our if you get a chance!

September

September 28, 2010

Try to remember the kind of September
When life was slow and oh, so mellow.
Try to remember the kind of September
When grass was green and grain was yellow.
Try to remember and if you remember then follow, follow.Try to remember when life was so tender
That no one wept except the willow.
Try to remember when life was so tender
When dreams were kept beside your pillow.
Try to remember when life was so tender
When love was an ember about to billow.
Try to remember and if you remember then follow, follow.Deep in December it’s nice to remember
Although you know the snow will follow.
Deep in December it’s nice to remember
Without a hurt the heart is hollow.
Deep in December it’s nice to remember
The fire of September that made us mellow.
Deep in December our hearts should remember and follow, follow.Enjoy your September…December is coming!

Heartless City

September 7, 2010

I’m loving this yellow dress with the black polka-dots from designer Kendall Freenote of Wasted Youth. One of the dresses from WY’s new super cute collection, it inspired me to take a lot (!) of pictures. It was also a lot of fun to style. I played with a several different looks and this was my city look with a touch of whimsy. (It’s not every day you wear a little back crow on your head.) In this incarnation I added a big wide velvet sash belt I lifted from a old Sweetest Goodbye outfit. The yellow vinyl umbrella complete with poses is from Creamshop and is just one of many colors.  Plus I don’t get to wear my over the knee boots very often so I was rolling with this look when I saw how great they worked with the dress.  More details and landmarks after the cut.

Still on vacation?

July 31, 2010

After several weeks of traveling, then coming home and then taking off again..I can’t seem to get back into the groove. I don’t know if it is the heat or just general laziness but it is a struggle to get motivated.  I have been logging in but not spending much time. So, I decided to jump back in and do a post or two and see if that doesn’t do the trick. Maybe part of the problem is that when I log in there are so many great new things that it is hard to catch up. All I want to do is shop—oh well, what’s new? I have a theory that one week in sl is like a four in rl….so if you are gone for two months, it is really more like 8 months..and a lot can happen in 8 months.

These are some pictures I took a few weeks ago and the items that make up the outfit aren’t really new releases now.  But I like the outfit and thought I would share. I absolutely love the big braid from Truth and modded it a bit to fit under one of my favorite hats from Lelutka. This hat was released last year but it comes in so many gorgeous colors that it is a summer must-have. The Zaara jewelry is amazing(<3 Zaara Kohime)…it really goes with so many things. I think here it adds a needed bit more color to the whole look. The jacket is from Maitreya and is worn over a jumpsuit (part of a dress) from Doppleganger— great fabric and simple design. More details on items and landmarks after the cut. And more posts to come soon.

Little Black Dress

May 13, 2010

Everyone needs a little black dress and this is a great one—the French Dress from Wasted Youth. I played around and put together several outfits with it…sometimes as a dress but also as a top. I am showing you two of my favorite combinations here. I pulled a real “vintage” piece (the used Flower Cardigan in red from Kurotsubaki) from my closet to wear over it in the first look.  The belt is a fairly new one from LG Concept …it comes in several colors and I love the sculpted flower buckle. The little purse is from Baiastice. The great thing (besides that it is so cute) is it comes in a couple of sizes and both shoulder and hand hold positions. Yay for that. The second look is the dress worn more as a top over leggings. These leggings are from R.icielli and how cute is that newspaper print!!?? The flower on the hat is from Atelier AM. <3  It is a headband but works well added to the hat.  For a better view click on any image for a higher resolution version. Jail Bait

May 11, 2010

Well not really but with a name like Cell Block Blazer it sort of makes sense. Kendall Freenote, designer of Wasted Youth, has been churning out some super cute new additions to her already super cute inventory. I love this blazer. I found so many ways to wear  it…but this was my favorite. A totally black and white look with only the ribbon on the hat from Epoque adding a note of red. The leggings/pants are from Emery and I love the detail of the belt drawn on….beautiful!! I added the new lariat pearl rope and pearl necklaces in black from Aya Huldschinsky (Atleir AM) and a zebra skin purse from Paper Couture. The black and white oxford tie shoes from Coco finish it off. More looks to post soon from Wasted Youth. Go check it out. Details and landmarks after the cute. For a closer look, just click on the photos for a higher resolution image. See ya, Elisabeth

I recently found a shop I hadn’t seen before and fell in love with the light and airy creations. It is u.f.o. and there are all kinds of dresses, tops and sweaters (like the one I am wearing here) that are made up of light layers of chiffon-like pixels. I love that this sweater has a closure button in the shape of a rose (and in fact it even has more rose-shaped prim buttons which I chose not to wear since I wanted to wear the Paper Couture necklace that already was loaded up with roses). I’m wearing the sweater over one of Maitreya’s new releases, the Bubble dress. It has a great sculpted shape to the skirt and I love that you can tint the belt which helped me match the shoes. As though I didn’t already have enough roses draped around me the ring is a rose too. It’s from CentoPallini, a store with some really cute jewelry…so go check it out. The photos were shot at the PixelMode sim and if you haven’t been there, by all means you should go…a beautiful place! A great place for a walk in the country and to feel the wind in your pixel hair. I am wearing one of my favorite headbands from LaGyo to keep mine in place. :) See ya, Elisabeth

I <3 Onyx and Beau

May 1, 2010

A new release from Maitreya! Used to be that wearing socks with sandals was a big fashion no-no…but this year it is a huge trend. And I have to say I <3 the new Allure sandals with the sock or tights option (or you can get them without)…and I love Onyx and Beau who created these little wonders. I have been waiting for something like this for months. And it should be no surprise that it comes from Maitreya. They are always on the forefront of the all things fashionable. I am also wearing one of their new Bra tops under the black Gisaci trench. Although with this outfit you can barely see the Bra top…they are gorgeous and come in loads of colors. (I myself couldn’t decide/resist and went for the fatpack.) The trench is a much-loved classic from my closet and still a big favorite. The glamorous page boy hair with hat is a new release from I Love Olive (this style is available only at Vita’s Boudoir). I Love Olive is making some of the most fun styles around these days…and I am a sucker for hats. The skin is a pre-release from Bella Di Notte. I can’t wait to see the other make-ups from the line…the face is really, really beautiful. Okay…I have to go now and try on more of the socks and sandal combination…..Details and landmarks after the cut.

…would I wanna be anywhere else?  Those lyrics have been going around in my head all day. Just the chorus, but it won’t stop… Maybe it’s because finally the sun IS in the sky and it is shining.  Anyway maybe that is why I feel like wearing something fun. I got this great headpiece and new flower and lace skirt from LG Boutique (<3 Georgyna Larnia) that I wanted to wear so I started there. The little leopard tippet with pearl closing from Atelier AM is new too and something I really love but hadn’t worn yet so that went into the mix. You can’t have too many pearls so I added a long string of pearls (from AA as well). I liked the outfit worn with the red Mongolian fur from Fishy Strawberry  so I show it here both with and without. The little woven straw hand purse is from LG boutique too and it is sooooooooo cute…..and comes in tons of colors. Oh why, oh why would I wanna be anywhere else?

YES Sir! NO Sir!

March 31, 2010

Wearing this military jacket from Coco makes me feel all, well… all military. So a lot of “YES Sirs” and “NO Sirs” and saluting—whatever. And La Gyo’s Unico hat….sort of military goes sparkley. I guess the shoes aren’t very military, I can’t see anyone doing maneuvers in heels this high but they are cute aren’t they? Also from La Gyo, the cute, vintagey-looking necklace with the antique car picture and little white ribbon on it.  The purse and belt are both from YS&YS …great design, well-fitted, textured and sculpted. I know I talk about quality a lot but if something is not well-done, what is the point? We are in a pixel world here and there are so many talented designers out there now that we don’t have to settle for anything less than great. Not much more to say, oh except “At Ease!”
