Leaving on a Jet Plane
October 18, 2010
The perfect travel outfit…comfortable, travel-worthy but still sexy. Coco’s Mods Coat is wrinkle-proof, water-proof and still stylish…the leopard lining gives it that little extra something. I couldn’t believe it but I found these tights that were a perfect match in my inventory. They are from Love Me and come in several different animal prints. Love me makes really cute tights so if you haven’t been there, go! The travel bag is from Truth. I love the size (big enough to stuff in a week-end’s worth) and I love the metal studs on the sides. The fabulous necklace and earrings are new from LaGyo (<3 Gyorgyna). Her whole new collection is really something, I know I will be wearing a lot of it! And she has a great big new store, don’t miss it. The top is Lelutka and as always the quality of the textures are beautiful, the little flounce at the bottom is great. I’m wearing my favorite “French Roll” updo in Sl….Siri by Maitreya, perfect for always looking chic. The new glasses are from Vintage McMillan at epoque. (Don’t they make me look smarter?) First Snow
October 11, 2010
I smell winter coming. Even in the virtual world, furry hats and boots and warm coats are starting to appear. Leluka had some new releases this week and I fell truly, madly, deeply in love with this lumberjack coat. The bell shape that swirls out, the strong plaid fabric and the huge fur collar make it a real winner. I had just bought the fur hat from tram which happens to be a perfect match. The hat comes with and without (as worn here) a bow that ties under your neck. The boots are from DPYumYum. They have been in my closet for a year but..Wow..I think they are the same plaid. \o/ The hair is from BarberYumyum (modded to fit under the hat) and is new. I love the way some of the prim bits in this hair move when you turn your head…so pretty! The necklace is from Yummy. I have so many of Polyester Partridge’s creations..all of them are so cute…this one is a bunch of charms on a gold chain. <3 (I think I would buy them just because I love her name.) The skinny wrap belt is an old favorite from Shiny Things. It has a little pouch on it for your virtual money. More details and landmarks after the cut. Click on any photo for a more detailed, hi-res version. Keep warm! Brrrrrrr, Elisabeth

Ruffles and Bows
October 7, 2010
I love the new ruffled boleros by G. Fields. She has a free version (in pumpkin color) at her store..I liked it so much I trotted right down to buy the fatpack. It is shown here with long sleeves but it also comes in a mid-sleeve and cap-sleeve version (also with ruffles) and you can wear it with or without the ruffled collar which makes it really versatile. A great staple for any closet.

The other new item here is the super cute short dress (worn as a top) from SK Designs. The package comes with two different patterns, both for only 150 lindens (what a bargain). All this is layered over a blouse from Zaara.

And accessories are important here..I tried to pile as many on as possible.
The asymmetrical hat is from Coco and the big bow scarf from Miel. It is great…comes with changeable color textures and built-in resizing script. Also..I want to thank say a big thanks to Sasy Scarborough for her help while I was working on this post….she let me use her pose stands and fixed mine that I somehow had broken. So thanks Sasy…big hugs. Read more details and landmarks listed after the cut!
Tempus Fugit
October 4, 2010
Yes…time is flying and there is shopping to be done. With lots of new items on the grid, autumn is always a fun time. Not too much to say today…other than I love the new handbags from Lelutka and the new hair they released this week! The fluffy dress is from Wasted Youth and my coat is an old-but-still-wonderful stand-by from Aoharu! Kookies boots are a recent release—a new take on her Armarda boots…a longer version. I love them. The earrings are pretty special…a recent release from Ticky Tacky. And as always, Paper Couture has some great new stuff including the cool Moon ring and new tortoise shades. More details and landmarks after the cut. See ya, Elisabeth

A Day at the (Virtual) Museum
October 3, 2010
Who would have thought? A fantastic Frank Lloyd Wright museum exists in our pixel world. I found it merely by chance by but I enjoyed the museum as well as visiting the virtual recreations of some of Wright’s famous residential buildings. There is even a museum store where you can buy recreations of furniture, posters, lamps and virtual books. It is educational, beautiful and really worth seeing!
And my g0-to-the -museum attire? The look was inspired by a couple of different things. The first was the pillbox hat by Epoque with it’s peacock feather trim. The second was the sweater and pin from Surf Couture (a 50 linden Friday item). I added the BettyPage Voyager jean jacket and the chiffon skirt from So Many Styles. (The skirt is a staple in my closet..I love the realistic layers and it comes in many colors as well as a subtle dotted pattern.) I think accessories make the outfit… so not one but two gorgeous rings…one from Zaara and the other from Paper Couture. Feathers became a theme….there are feathers on the necklace from Atelier AM and the earrings from Pididdle are peacock feathers that match the one on the hat. And Valena Glushenko’s (Orta) wonderful Stella clutch adds a little punch of color.

More credits and landmarks after the cut. And forgive me all the pictures but I wanted to show the museum as well as the outfit (the first one and the last two are at the museum). And by all means go check it our if you get a chance!

September
September 28, 2010
Try to remember the kind of September
When life was slow and oh, so mellow.
Try to remember the kind of September
When grass was green and grain was yellow.
Try to remember and if you remember then follow, follow.
Try to remember when life was so tender
That no one wept except the willow.
Try to remember when life was so tender
When dreams were kept beside your pillow.
Try to remember when life was so tender
When love was an ember about to billow.
Try to remember and if you remember then follow, follow.
Deep in December it’s nice to remember
Although you know the snow will follow.
Deep in December it’s nice to remember
Without a hurt the heart is hollow.
Deep in December it’s nice to remember
The fire of September that made us mellow.
Deep in December our hearts should remember and follow, follow.
Enjoy your September…December is coming!

Polka Dots…One More Time
September 26, 2010
I know…my last post featured the same dress. I meant to do both of these at the same time and then disaster struck…almost no internet connections to be found while I was traveling. So I am back home and here it is (finally), another styling of the same yellow polka-dot dress from Wasted Youth. What inspired this styling was trying on the new hair by Toast Bard from the Hair Fair. I am a huge fan of all things by Toast; skins, clothes and most definitely hair. All her creations have just the right edge and humor. The hair comes with the hat although I added the bird (also in my last post)..yes, I really like that bird. I am wearing one of Mynerva’s new skins and I am in love with them….beautifully drawn and the faces are so sweet. The belt is a favorite from this year’s Lelutka collection as are the Pow pumps. A lot of the other items are classics. The gym bag from Lelutka, the Pashmina from Zaara and the necklace from Paper Couture. Anyway, I thought it was fun to style this versatile dress two totally different ways. It is always great to get something new (in this case the hair and hat) that sends you off in a totally different direction. Hope you like it too.
See ya, Elisabeth
Heartless City
September 7, 2010

I’m loving this yellow dress with the black polka-dots from designer Kendall Freenote of Wasted Youth. One of the dresses from WY’s new super cute collection, it inspired me to take a lot (!) of pictures. It was also a lot of fun to style. I played with a several different looks and this was my city look with a touch of whimsy. (It’s not every day you wear a little back crow on your head.) In this incarnation I added a big wide velvet sash belt I lifted from a old Sweetest Goodbye outfit. The yellow vinyl umbrella complete with poses is from Creamshop and is just one of many colors. Plus I don’t get to wear my over the knee boots very often so I was rolling with this look when I saw how great they worked with the dress. More details and landmarks after the cut.
Hair Fair 2010 and Wigs for Kids
September 5, 2010
It is OPEN! Hair Fair 2010 is off to a great start. From September 4-19 you can shop ’til you drop. But don’t forget one of the most important things about Hair Fair is that it helps raise money for a very good cause. This year’s charity is Wigs for Kids…so keep that in mind when buying….and splurge!
I was lucky enough to get to see the sims before they were packed with people and took a few shots. The build is delightful with tents housing the participants along walkways punctuated by classical triumphal arches. Along the center of the walkways are easels which hold the incredible winning pictures of this year’s Hair Fair photography contest and big containers topped by balloons where you can make donations to the charity. Inside the tents, you will find most of your favorite hair designers as well as many others you may not have seen before. Take a look between the display areas inside the tents..there are cute dressing areas with make-up mirrors, fans, folding chairs. (See some of my pics below.)
The styles this year are simply fantastic…in this post you’ll see a few of my favorites with more to come over the next several days. Congratulations to the Hair Fair committee for all their hard work and to the designers who have worked so hard making all the pretty hairstyles showcased at the fair! Enjoy. Complete list of landmarks. Details on skins, clothing and jewelry after the cut.
Out of a Dream….
August 1, 2010
This look was inspired by several things; this tiny, tiny little skirt from Liberty Shinn at LP Design (it comes in many other colors) and the flowered crop jacket from La Maison Kaestner <3 (here i just wore the chest part to make it a little vest). Fashionboi Landar from House of Fox created the black leather bra and the sheer top (these are from older releases). HOF is really doing amazing and uber-creative couture work. If you haven’t been, go check it out. This wonderful updo called Maya is newly released from I Love Olive. Look at the back! Beautiful.
The photos were shot at the Zero sim and in the end they all had a sort of dream-like quality helped along by the beautiful poses by Del May—hence the name of the post. All details and landmarks below the cut.
